This legislation, known as the CBO Oversight Act , amends the Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974 to enhance congressional oversight of the Congressional Budget Office. It establishes a new requirement for the CBO Director to appear annually before the Budget Committees of both the House of Representatives and the Senate. Specifically, the Director must provide testimony at two hearings for each committee per calendar year, upon the request of the respective committee chair. These hearings are intended to allow committees to address any relevant issues, including a thorough review of the accuracy of baseline projections and estimates prepared by the CBO during the most recently completed fiscal year.
