This bill aims to ensure a dedicated and fair percentage of Federal cancer research funds are allocated specifically for pediatric cancer research . Beginning in fiscal year 2026, and for every subsequent fiscal year, the President must ensure that the percentage of total Federal funds obligated for cancer research that goes to pediatric cancer research is precisely determined. This percentage will be calculated based on the ratio of the number of individuals under the age of 18 residing in the United States to the total U.S. population in the preceding fiscal year, as determined by the Bureau of the Census.
