Warrior Road Act

This bill, titled the Warrior Road Act, seeks to enhance national and civil defense capabilities by prioritizing specific highway infrastructure projects. It directs the Secretary of Transportation to develop and regularly update a priority listing of the three highest civil defense highway projects in each state, in consultation with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and submit these lists to Congress. Additionally, the legislation mandates a report from the Secretary of Transportation, in consultation with the Secretary of War, identifying highway improvement projects that promote national defense, including at least three top projects per state. Crucially, it requires the Secretary of Transportation to give priority to these national defense projects when awarding federal discretionary highway grants. States and metropolitan planning organizations must also prioritize these designated projects to be eligible for certain federal highway apportionment funds, ensuring a focused investment in defense-critical infrastructure.
