Natural Gas Export Expansion Act

This legislation, titled the Natural Gas Export Expansion Act, seeks to significantly expand the export of natural gas from the United States by amending Section 3(c) of the Natural Gas Act. Congress finds that such expansion will stimulate increased investment , foster the development of domestic natural gas supplies, and contribute to job growth and economic development . The bill establishes an expedited application and approval process for natural gas exports to most nations. However, it explicitly excludes nations subject to existing U.S. sanctions or those designated by the President or Congress for national security reasons from this expedited process. Furthermore, the act clarifies that no specific order is required to authorize the export or import of natural gas to or from Canada or Mexico.
