Improving SBA Engagement on Employee Ownership Act

This bill aims to significantly enhance the Small Business Administration's (SBA) role in promoting and supporting employee ownership and cooperatives. It mandates that the SBA Administrator, or a designee, actively participate in federal working groups, meetings, and other engagements focused on these business models, particularly when invited or previously involved. Furthermore, the legislation expands the scope of outreach for Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) programs by requiring that information on employee ownership also be provided to the investors and limited partners of these companies. Within 180 days of enactment, the bill directs the SBA Administrator to fulfill existing outreach and assistance requirements through the Administration's dedicated Small Business Employee Ownership and Cooperatives Promotion Program , ensuring a focused approach to these initiatives.
