Enhancing Faith-Based Support for Veterans Act of 2025

This legislation amends title 38, United States Code, to permit chaplains employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to transmit patient contact information to external religious or faith-based organizations. This action is entirely voluntary , requiring the patient's explicit election after a spiritual assessment has been conducted by the chaplain. The spiritual assessment is defined as an evaluation to gather spiritual information about the patient and, if applicable, to inform their medical treatment plan. The bill's intent is to facilitate connections between veterans and faith-based support networks outside the VA, thereby enhancing their access to such resources.
