This bill aims to guarantee the continued operation of the Transportation Security Administration during any period of a government shutdown. It mandates that the TSA Administrator must continue all programs, projects, and activities at a rate not exceeding that of the preceding fiscal year. Funding for these operations would be drawn from unobligated balances made available under a specific prior public law. The appropriations and funds provided under this act would be available from the first day of a lapse in appropriations. This funding would continue until either a new regular appropriation bill or a continuing resolution becomes law, or for a maximum of 180 days , whichever occurs first. All activities would be subject to the same terms and conditions as the appropriations from the preceding fiscal year, and if a lapse extends beyond the end of a fiscal year, funding levels would carry over into the next.
