Pay Our Public Shipyard Workers Act

The legislation authorizes the Treasury to allocate any unappropriated funds for the pay and allowances of civilian and military public shipyard workers during periods when fiscal year 2026 or 2027 appropriations are not in effect. Continuing appropriations are made available until the first of three events: the enactment of a new appropriation for the same purpose, the passage of a regular or continuing resolution that omits such appropriations, or the date of January 1, 2027. This provision guarantees that shipyard workers receive wages even if a government shutdown occurs, preventing disruptions to critical maritime infrastructure. The act applies to all workers in public shipyards, ensuring that both civilian and military personnel are covered under the same funding mechanism.
