Equal Detention Standards Act of 2025

The "Equal Detention Standards Act of 2025" seeks to establish uniform operational standards for all immigration detention facilities. Upon its enactment, any agreement entered into or renewed between the Secretary of Homeland Security and an entity operating such a facility will be subject to the Federal Performance Based Detention Standards . These specific standards, which are published by the United States Marshal Service , will apply to facilities detaining individuals under immigration laws. They are to be implemented in addition to any other standards already outlined in existing contracts or agreements.
