PERU Act of 2025

This proposed legislation, titled the "Promoting Economic Resilience and Unity Act of 2025" or "PERU Act of 2025" , seeks to expand eligibility for certain nonimmigrant visas. Specifically, it aims to include Peru in the list of foreign states whose nationals can be admitted into the United States under the E-1 treaty trader and E-2 treaty investor categories. A key provision of the bill is that this eligibility for Peruvian nationals is contingent upon a reciprocal agreement. The Government of Peru must provide similar nonimmigrant status to nationals of the United States for this measure to take effect, thereby fostering balanced economic engagement and investment opportunities between the two nations.
