RACE Act

This legislation, known as the Restoring American Confidence in Elections Act , aims to amend the Help America Vote Act of 2002 by imposing new deadlines for states regarding federal elections. Its primary goal is to accelerate the completion of election processes, thereby enhancing public confidence in the results. Specifically, the bill mandates that all ballots cast in a federal election must be fully counted by 10 o'clock p.m. on Election Day . Furthermore, states would be required to certify the official results of federal elections no later than 48 hours after Election Day . These strict timelines include provisions for exceptions in cases of genuine emergencies, such as major disasters, or due to technical difficulties like equipment malfunctions.
