HIV Prevention Now Act

This legislation aims to significantly bolster public health efforts by appropriating a substantial sum to a key federal agency. Specifically, it allocates $2,165,000,000 for fiscal year 2026 to the National Center for HIV, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and Tuberculosis Prevention (NCHHSTP) within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The bill stipulates that these funds are to be considered additional to any other amounts appropriated to the Department of Health and Human Services, including the CDC. Furthermore, the appropriated money must be used exclusively for the programs and activities of the NCHHSTP, ensuring dedicated resources for prevention and control efforts related to HIV, viral hepatitis, STDs, and tuberculosis. The legislation also explicitly prohibits the transfer of these funds to any entity other than the NCHHSTP.
