This legislation, known as the "Homeowner Energy Freedom Act," aims to repeal several key provisions established under Public Law 117-169 , commonly referred to as the Inflation Reduction Act. Its primary objective is to eliminate taxpayer subsidies related to home electrification and energy efficiency initiatives. Specifically, the bill repeals the high-efficiency electric home rebate program , which provided financial incentives for homeowners. It also targets the repeal of State-based home energy efficiency contractor training grants and federal assistance for the adoption of latest and zero building energy codes . Furthermore, the act mandates the rescission of any unobligated funds previously allocated to the high-efficiency electric home rebate program and the building energy code assistance program, along with a conforming amendment to related statutory language.
