Mental Health for Latinos Act of 2025

This bill mandates the development and implementation of a behavioral and mental health outreach and education strategy specifically for Hispanic and Latino populations . Coordinated by the Secretary through the Assistant Secretary, this strategy aims to significantly reduce the stigma associated with mental health conditions and substance abuse within these communities. Key components of the strategy include ensuring it is culturally and linguistically appropriate , developmentally, and age-appropriate, while also being tailored to diverse subgroups. It will focus on increasing awareness of mental illness symptoms and providing information on evidence-based, culturally adapted interventions and treatments. The bill also requires annual reports to Congress on the strategy's effectiveness in improving health outcomes and authorizes $1,000,000 for fiscal year 2026 to carry out these provisions.
