The "Reliable Federal infrastructure Act" proposes to repeal specific federal building energy efficiency performance standards. Its primary action is to strike subparagraph (D) of section 305(a)(3) of the Energy Conservation and Production Act , which established these revised standards. Consequently, all performance standards previously set under this repealed section will immediately lose their legal force and effect, and the Act will be implemented as if they had never been enacted. The bill further includes several conforming amendments to the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 , systematically removing all related requirements and references to the eliminated energy efficiency mandates for federal buildings.
