Seasonal Agriculture CDL Modernization Act

This bill, known as the "Seasonal Agriculture CDL Modernization Act," mandates the Secretary of Transportation to issue new regulations within one year of its enactment. Its primary goal is to streamline the process for farm-related service industries and eligible employees to renew their seasonal restricted commercial driver's licenses. Specifically, the legislation requires amending federal regulations to allow states to develop and implement online registration and renewal systems for these licenses, provided all other program conditions are met. Furthermore, the bill clarifies that implements of husbandry , which are vehicles or equipment designed for agricultural operations, are not to be considered commercial motor vehicles. This clarification also exempts them from calculations of Gross Combination Weight Rating or Gross Combination Weight, thereby reducing regulatory burdens on agricultural equipment.
