Department of Education Protection Act

This legislation aims to prevent the Department of Education from undertaking significant organizational changes using existing financial resources. It explicitly prohibits the use of funds made available by previous Appropriations Acts for any activity related to implementing a reorganization of the Department. The prohibition applies to reorganizations that would decentralize , reduce the staffing level of, or alter the responsibilities, structure, authority, or functionality of the Department. This restriction is measured against the Department's organization and operation as it stood on January 1, 2025 , effectively freezing its structure from that date using existing funds.
