This bill directs the establishment and maintenance of a National Concussion and Traumatic Brain Injury Clearinghouse to provide vetted, high-quality information on best practices, medical knowledge, and research. Its purpose is to assist both medical professionals in patient care and patients and other stakeholders in accessing reliable information and finding appropriate care. A Federal official, jointly designated by the Secretary of Health and Human Services, the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Secretary of Labor, will be responsible for establishing this clearinghouse. If no agreement is reached within 60 days, the CDC Director will be deemed the designated official. The clearinghouse must be established within 120 days of the Act's enactment, with provisions for disseminating information through arrangements with various entities like nonprofit organizations and government agencies.
