This legislation seeks to expand the federal reporting requirements for multiple firearms sales made by licensed dealers. Currently, Federal firearms licensees (FFLs) are mandated to report to the Attorney General when they sell two or more handguns to the same unlicensed individual within a five-consecutive-business-day period. The bill proposes to amend title 18, United States Code, specifically section 923(g)(3)(A), to broaden this obligation. Under the proposed change, FFLs would be required to report such multiple sales for all types of firearms , thereby removing the current limitation to only pistols and revolvers and enhancing oversight of firearm transactions.
