This bill directs the Secretary of the Interior to establish a grant program within six months of its enactment to fund the construction, restoration, renovation, and maintenance of covered memorials . These memorials are defined as structures or landscape features, such as statues or gardens, that honor veterans of the Armed Forces, law enforcement officers, and firefighters who served with distinction or risked their lives. The program will award grants to units of local government and nonprofit organizations , prioritizing projects with strong community support that memorialize individuals or groups for exemplary public service or acts of bravery. Each grant is limited to $100,000 and requires a 50 percent non-Federal matching contribution , which can include in-kind support. The bill authorizes $2,000,000 to be appropriated annually for fiscal years 2026 through 2030 to support this program.
