This legislation, known as the Wabeno Economic Development Act , primarily directs the conveyance of approximately 14 acres of National Forest System land. This specific parcel, located within the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest in Wisconsin, is to be transferred to Tony's Wabeno Redi-Mix, LLC. The conveyance is contingent upon the company offering to acquire the property at its market value, as determined by an official appraisal, and covering all associated costs, including survey, appraisal, and environmental analysis fees. The bill also mandates a comprehensive review of federal permitting processes for the development of stone, sand, and gravel on federal lands. The Secretary of the Interior, in consultation with other agencies and stakeholders, must conduct this review. A report detailing current processes, identifying inefficiencies, and proposing legislative or administrative actions to streamline permitting is required within 180 days of the Act's enactment, along with a summary of economic impacts.
