This bill, titled the "American Patriots of WWII through Service with the Canadian and British Armed Forces Gold Medal Act of 2025," authorizes the award of a single Congressional Gold Medal. This medal is intended for all United States nationals who voluntarily joined the Canadian and British Armed Forces and their supporting entities during World War II, in recognition of their dedicated service and significant contributions to the Allied war effort. Congress finds that thousands of Americans volunteered for service with Canadian and British militaries and associated organizations, often before the United States officially entered the conflict. These individuals, including many who joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and Royal Air Force, demonstrated remarkable foresight and bravery, with some even transferring to United States forces later in the war. Their service provided crucial experience and support, filling vital roles that were essential to achieving victory. The Secretary of the Treasury is directed to strike the gold medal with suitable designs. After its award, the medal will be given to the Smithsonian Institution for display and research, with a Congressional sense that it should also be made available for display elsewhere. Additionally, the Secretary may strike and sell bronze duplicates of the medal to the public.
