No Desire for Streetcars Act

This bill aims to restrict federal financial support for streetcar systems. Its primary objective is to amend existing transportation laws to explicitly prohibit the allocation of certain federal funds towards streetcar-related activities. The legislation specifically targets funds from programs authorized under titles 23 and 49 of the United States Code. These include the Surface Transportation Block Grant Program , the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program , Urbanized Area Formula Grants , and Fixed Guideway Capital Investment Grants . Under these amended provisions, no federal money from these sources may be used for the procurement, operation, or maintenance of any streetcar.
