The Small Business Representation in Contracting Rulemaking Act

This legislation, known as "The Small Business Representation in Contracting Rulemaking Act," aims to enhance the representation of small business interests in federal contracting. It achieves this by amending title 41, United States Code, to include the Administrator of the Small Business Administration as a new member of the Federal Acquisition Regulatory Council (FAR Council). The bill mandates that, within 90 days of enactment, the SBA Administrator must submit a comprehensive report to the House and Senate Small Business Committees. This report requires an assessment of the personnel and resources needed for the Administrator to effectively carry out duties on the FAR Council. Additionally, it calls for recommendations on changes to current laws, strategies, policies, or regulations that would assist the Administrator in fulfilling these responsibilities, thereby strengthening small business participation in federal acquisition rulemaking.
