Safe Prescribing Through Reporting Act of 2025

This bill amends the Public Health Service Act to permit the disclosure of certain patient records. Specifically, it allows information related to the prescribing or dispensing of substance use disorder medications to be shared with applicable State prescription drug monitoring programs (PDMPs) . This disclosure is an exception to existing privacy regulations for substance use disorder treatment records. However, such sharing is only authorized if it is explicitly required by applicable State law , ensuring a state-level mandate for the data exchange.
