Stop Foreign Funds in Elections Act

This bill aims to strengthen the integrity of democratic processes by amending the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971. Its primary purpose is to broaden the existing prohibition on contributions and donations made by foreign nationals . Specifically, the legislation extends this ban to cover financial contributions or donations made in connection with State or local ballot initiatives , referenda , and recall elections . This ensures that the same restrictions on foreign influence that apply to traditional elections are also applied to these direct democracy mechanisms. The amendment will apply to all contributions and donations made on or after the date the Act is enacted into law.
