This bill mandates the establishment of a Street Racing Prevention and Intervention Task Force within 90 days of enactment. This task force, overseen by the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, will comprise members from the Department of Justice, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, State and local law enforcement, and the FBI. The primary duties of the Task Force include studying the prevalence and impacts of street racing, vehicle sideshows, and street takeovers. It will also be responsible for developing and distributing best practices for a national approach to combat organized street racing, as well as providing guidance for State and local law enforcement agencies. Furthermore, the Task Force will create educational materials to prevent and respond to these activities, coordinate the response among various law enforcement levels, and submit a progress report to Congress within one year.
