This legislation amends the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 to expand the responsibilities of the Advocate for Small Business Capital Formation , aiming to promote capital raising options for a wider array of small businesses. The Advocate will now be required to provide educational resources and host or participate in events to raise awareness of funding opportunities. These efforts are specifically targeted at underrepresented small businesses , including those owned by women and minorities, businesses located in rural areas , and those affected by natural disasters . Additionally, the bill mandates that the Advocate meet at least annually with representatives of State securities commissions to discuss collaboration and coordination in assisting small businesses and their investors.
