This bill directs the Attorney General to establish a grant program within 90 days of enactment, aimed at assisting local law enforcement agencies. The program's core purpose is to provide financial support for qualified accreditation or re-certification from professional law enforcement organizations. Grants will be awarded to eligible agencies that submit an application demonstrating financial need. Agencies with fewer than 350 employees are eligible to apply, and grant funds can only be used for specific expenses, including accreditation or re-certification fees , on-site assessment charges, and extension fees. To fund this initiative, the bill authorizes an appropriation of $10,000,000 for fiscal year 2025 , with these funds remaining available until expended.
