Veterans’ Security and Pay Transparency Act

This legislation directs the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to establish an annual reporting requirement concerning the compensation of Department police officers, aiming to provide transparency regarding their pay structures. The report will detail various forms of compensation paid to these essential personnel across different VA facilities. Specifically, each annual report must include information on salaries , availability pay under section 5545a of title 5, bonuses for recruitment or retention, and any other compensation provided to a Department police officer. This data is required to be disaggregated by individual VA facility and by specific police-related positions, which include roles like Chief of Police (GS-0080) Police Officer (GS-0083) Criminal Investigator (GS-1811) Dispatcher (GS-0086) , among others. The first report is mandated to be submitted to the Committees on Veterans' Affairs of both the Senate and House of Representatives within six months following the Act's enactment.
