Defend our Coast Act

The "Defend our Coast Act" proposes to amend the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act by establishing a permanent withdrawal of the Mid-Atlantic Planning Area from future oil and gas leasing. This bill would prohibit the Secretary from issuing any new leases for the exploration, development, or production of oil or gas within the specified Mid-Atlantic Outer Continental Shelf.
