This bill, titled the Advanced Border Coordination Act of 2025, directs the Department of Homeland Security to establish a minimum of two Joint Operations Centers along the southern border within six months of enactment. These centers are designed to function as unified coordination hubs, facilitating collaboration and communication among Federal, State, local, and Tribal law enforcement agencies. Their primary objective is to enhance the coordination of field, ground, air, and sea operations. The centers will specifically focus on coordinating border operations to deter and detect criminal activity, including those related to transnational criminal organizations , illegal border crossings, and the trafficking of drugs and humans. They will also ensure effective information sharing between participating agencies and coordinate the deployment and training of personnel. Annually, the Secretary of Homeland Security must report to Congress on the centers' operations, resources, identified gaps, and recommendations for improved coordination.
