This legislation mandates the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) to create the Fallen Servicemembers Religious Heritage Restoration Program . The program's primary goal is to identify deceased American-Jewish servicemembers from World War I and World War II who were mistakenly buried in overseas military cemeteries under markers that do not reflect their Jewish faith. This initiative seeks to correct historical errors and ensure proper recognition of their heritage. The ABMC is directed to carry out this program for five fiscal years following the bill's enactment. During this period, the Commission will annually contract with a qualified nonprofit organization , providing $500,000 each year, to conduct the identification efforts and contact the survivors and descendants of these covered members. Additionally, the bill includes a minor amendment to title 38, United States Code, extending certain limits on pension payments from November 30, 2031, to January 31, 2032.
