Protecting Gold Star Spouses Act of 2025

This legislation establishes interim appropriations to ensure continuous funding for the Coast Guard Retired Serviceman's Family Protection and Survivor Benefits Plans . For each fiscal year following 2024, it appropriates such sums as necessary from the Treasury to cover these vital benefits, maintaining the rate and conditions set by the most recent full-year appropriations law. The bill includes a crucial provision stating that if a subsequent full appropriation for these plans, or a general Coast Guard appropriation, is enacted, any expenditures made under this interim act will be charged to that new appropriation. Furthermore, the interim funds will cease to be available once the subsequent full appropriation is enacted, preventing duplicate funding and ensuring a smooth transition.
