Kissimmee River Wild and Scenic River Act

Summary

This bill aims to incorporate a specific segment of the Kissimmee River in Florida into the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System. The designated segment encompasses the restored portion of the river, extending from approximately 16 miles downstream of Lake Kissimmee to about 15 miles upstream of Lake Okeechobee. This segment will be administered by the Secretary of the Interior as a recreational river . Furthermore, all Federal land within the boundaries of this designated river segment will be withdrawn from various forms of entry, appropriation, or disposal under public land laws, as well as from location, entry, and patent under mining laws, and disposition under mineral and geothermal leasing laws, subject to valid existing rights.
