The Quinault Indian Nation Land Transfer Act mandates the administrative transfer of approximately 72 acres of land in Washington from the Forest Service to the Department of the Interior. This land will then be taken into trust for the benefit of the Quinault Indian Nation, becoming an integral part of the Quinault Indian Reservation . The Secretary of the Interior will administer this land according to general laws and regulations applicable to trust property. A significant provision of the Act is that this specific land will not be eligible for gaming under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, and it explicitly states that existing treaty rights of the Quinault Indian Nation remain unaffected. Furthermore, the Secretary must meet hazardous substance disclosure requirements but is not obligated to remediate such materials.
