Cellphone Jamming Reform Act of 2025

This bill proposes to prohibit the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) from preventing state or federal correctional facilities from utilizing wireless jamming systems. These systems are intended to disrupt communications from contraband devices or individuals held within the facility, thereby enhancing security and control over unauthorized wireless activity. The legislation specifies that the operation of these jamming systems must be confined to the housing facilities of the correctional institution. Additionally, state facilities are responsible for all associated funding and operational costs, and facilities must consult with local law enforcement and public safety officials before implementation, while also notifying the Director of the Bureau of Prisons.
