The Air America Act of 2025 aims to provide financial recognition to former employees of Air America and its affiliated companies, or their survivors, for their support to the United States Government between 1950 and 1976. Congress finds that these individuals, often in coordination with the Central Intelligence Agency, endured high casualty rates, performed life-saving search and rescue missions, and served lengthy periods under challenging circumstances abroad. Eligibility for these awards is extended to U.S. citizen employees who performed qualifying service during the specified period, or to their surviving spouses, dependents, or children. Eligible individuals or their survivors will receive a base award payment of $40,000 for at least five years of qualifying service. An additional $8,000 will be paid for each full year of service exceeding five years. The total amount of awards granted under this Act is capped at $60,000,000 , though the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency can request additional funds from Congress if needed. Claimants must file for payment within two years after the effective date of the prescribed regulations, and the Director's determinations are final and not subject to judicial review. These awards are explicitly one-time payments and do not create any new federal benefits or legal entitlements.
