Furthermore, the Commission is mandated to develop a fundraising plan to support the Museum's construction, operation, and maintenance, specifically considering how to achieve this without reliance on federal appropriations. An independent review of this fundraising plan's viability is also required. The Commission must submit its reports and plans, including recommendations for legislative action, within specific deadlines, with the final reports due 24 months after its first meeting and legislative recommendations 12 months thereafter. The bill authorizes appropriations of $2,100,000 for the first fiscal year and $1,100,000 for the second fiscal year to support the Commission's activities.
