This bill establishes the Thriving Communities Program , directing the Secretary of Transportation, in coordination with the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, to create a grant program. Its primary goal is to offer technical assistance and capacity building to the nation's fastest growing communities, enabling them to advance transformative infrastructure projects. The Secretary is also required to submit a report to Congress detailing the methods used to promote transit-oriented development , the level of coordination between the two departments, and the metrics for distributing program funding. For its implementation, the bill authorizes annual appropriations of $100,000,000 for the Department of Transportation and $5,500,000 for the Department of Housing and Urban Development to facilitate their collaborative efforts.
