This bill aims to prohibit specific commercial activities related to kangaroos and kangaroo products within the United States. It makes it unlawful for any person to knowingly bring kangaroos into the U.S. for commercial purposes, possess them with intent to sell, or sell them, and also prohibits the introduction, sale, trade, advertising, transport, or distribution of kangaroo products in interstate commerce. The bill defines "kangaroo" to include specific species like the western grey kangaroo , eastern grey kangaroo , common wallaroo , and red kangaroo , and "kangaroo product" as any item composed in whole or in part of a kangaroo. Violators face significant criminal penalties, including fines up to $10,000 , imprisonment for up to 1 year , or both, with each violation considered a separate offense. The Secretary of Commerce will issue regulations to implement these provisions, which take effect 180 days after enactment.
