This legislation mandates that the Secretary of Health and Human Services issue guidance by January 1, 2027, regarding Medicare Part B payment. This guidance will specifically address requirements for payment for certain remote monitoring devices. These covered devices, such as continuous glucose monitors, must incorporate an artificial intelligence component , like a continuous adjustment feature. Furthermore, they must be capable of transmitting vital patient information directly to a healthcare provider to aid in the management and treatment of an individual's health condition.
Referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, and in addition to the Committee on Ways and Means, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
