This proposed legislation, designated as the Inflation Reduction Act of 2025 , has the primary objective of completely repealing the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (Public Law 117-169). Beyond simply nullifying the previous act, this bill also mandates the rescission of all unobligated balances of funds that were originally made available under the 2022 legislation. This action would effectively halt any further spending or programs that were authorized but not yet committed under the repealed act.
