The "Guarding Readiness Resources Act" aims to clarify the financial procedures for the National Guard Bureau by amending title 32, United States Code. This legislation specifies how funds received as reimbursement from states and territories for the use of military property should be managed. Under the proposed changes, these reimbursed funds must be credited to either the original appropriation that incurred the obligation or an appropriate currently available account. Furthermore, the Department of Defense is restricted to using these funds exclusively for the repair, maintenance, replacement , or similar functions of assets directly used by National Guard units during their State active duty status .
