Reforming Education for Veterans Act

This legislation introduces several improvements to educational assistance programs administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs. It grants greater flexibility to covered members whose education is interrupted by military service, allowing them to withdraw, take a leave of absence, or now, enter into an agreement with their institution to complete a course, provided they have completed at least half of it. The bill also streamlines the Department of Veterans Affairs' compliance survey process for educational institutions. It specifies that institutions with multiple campuses only need to complete one survey if a single school certifying official handles all veteran enrollments, and extends the notice period for compliance surveys to 15 business days for institutions utilizing a time stamp database collection feature. Additionally, the legislation mandates that the Secretary of Veterans Affairs must notify all school certifying officials within 14 business days of any updates to the official handbook, ensuring timely communication of important changes.
