Downwinders Parity Act of 2025

This legislation, titled the Downwinders Parity Act of 2025, aims to expand eligibility for compensation under the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA). It achieves this by removing specific geographic limitations for "downwinders," thereby broadening the areas from which individuals can claim benefits. The bill further expands eligibility by including all acreage within any county that was previously only partially covered by the Act. In addition to expanding eligibility, the bill extends the Radiation Exposure Compensation Trust Fund's operation until December 31, 2030 , ensuring continued financial support for claimants. It also mandates that the Attorney General submit a report within 180 days detailing efforts to educate and conduct outreach to those newly eligible for compensation under these amendments.
