SASS Act

This bill, known as the Single Application for School Safety Act, aims to streamline the process for obtaining federal matching grants for school security. It amends existing law to require the Attorney General to establish a new, more efficient application system. Specifically, the bill mandates a process where a single grant application can be submitted for funds authorized by both the COPS Director and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) Director. This change is intended to simplify access to critical school safety resources for applicants. Additionally, the legislation requires the COPS Director or BJA Director to provide technical assistance to help applicants successfully complete their grant applications.
