This legislation seeks to broadly prohibit the use of Federal funds for any activities related to cell-cultured meat , which is defined as meat sourced from animal cells and artificially produced in a laboratory. The prohibition extends to both direct and indirect support for its production, advancement, or enhancement. Specifically, Federal funds cannot be used for conducting or supporting research on cell-cultured meat, aiding related organizations, or providing agricultural program benefits for products containing it. Furthermore, the promotion and advertisement of cell-cultured meat are also prohibited, with the only exception being for National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) funds used for off-planet consumption.
