The "Utah Wildfire Research Institute Act of 2025" amends the Southwest Forest Health and Wildfire Prevention Act of 2004. This legislation specifically requires the establishment of an additional Institute under the Act, designating the State of Utah as its location. The purpose of this new institute is to enhance efforts in forest health and wildfire prevention within Utah. By expanding the geographic scope of the 2004 Act to include Utah, the bill aims to provide dedicated resources and expertise. This will support research and implementation strategies to mitigate wildfire risks and promote sustainable forest management in the state.
