No Taxpayer Funds for Congressional First Class Flights Act

This bill aims to restrict the use of official funds for airline travel by Members of Congress. Specifically, it prohibits the use of any appropriated or made available funds for airline accommodations that are not coach-class . An important exception is provided for situations where non-coach-class accommodations are necessary due to a medical disability or other special need. The bill defines "coach-class accommodations" as the basic class offered by airlines, including carry-on baggage without additional cost, such as tourist or economy class. Regulations to implement this Act will be prescribed by the Committee on House Administration for the House and the Committee on Rules and Administration for the Senate. This prohibition applies to all Senators, Representatives, Delegates, and the Resident Commissioner, and will become effective starting in fiscal year 2027 and all subsequent fiscal years.
